Together with the Taipeh Vertretung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (https://www.roc-taiwan.org/de_de/contact_us.html), STAGE e.V. (https://stage-ev.de/) co-sponsored a whole-day event in Leipzig on July 5th, 2025. The event started with a lively guided city tour in the morning and early afternoon that was kindly organized by Mr. Te-Jen Pan. In the evening, pianist Ms. Yun-Yen Tsai, violinist Ms. Ting-Hsuan Hu, and special guest Prof. Merle Fairhurst together presented a wonderful concert with several pieces of music composed by J. S. Bach–whose music still touches people´s hearts and souls around the globe even 275 years after his passing away, Ferruccio Busoni, César Franck as well as two Taiwanese composers, Su-Ti Chen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chen_Su-Ti), and Yu-Hsien Teng (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teng_Yu-hsien). Dialogs and contacts between cultures and countries build the foundations for cross-cultural understanding and international exchanges to promote multilateral developments and peace.
The event was very well visited with over 30 participants for the city tour and an audience of more than 60 people in the splendid historical hall of the Alte Börse at the heart of Leipzig. Many special guests also attended the concert, among many others: the representatives of Taiwan to Germany (Prof. Jhy-Wey Shieh) and to Austria (Prof. Suan-Yung Liu), Saxony’s Minister of Science Mr. Sebastian Gemkow (https://www.wissenschaft.sachsen.de/wissenschaftsminister-sebastian-gemkow-3979.html), as well as Ms. Lora Ho of TSMC ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/lora-ho-0777538b).
